This site will help make you a better cook, an adept gardener, and good-looking. Also, I'm not from or in Tuscany, and I'm a man.
When I can figure out how to get a list of the other posts in this category here, it will be. For now, just some pictures. =)
Out of the broiler

They there are, the 2 bowls of love. I used the stock from Christmas Eve, which was a veggie stock heavy on the onions. The soup was a deep rich brown, and I toasted my croutons and draped Emmentaler over the bowls. A few minutes under the broiler and they were ready. Quite tasty, and I made a little salad with some lettuce and radishes from the garden, some pickled onions and green beans, a couple marinated olives, and a bit of Dave’s Albacore. Drizzle some balsamic and oil over the top and we’re good to go. My big stretch of the night? I used Sourdough instead of French for the croutons. I’ve got some ideas now that I’ve made the strict “from-the-book” style. Wait until next week. =)
Oh, and the girls loved it. The Princess ate hers, sans cheese, with some toast out of the oven, and J really like it too. I’m on some kind of roll here. I hope I don’t jinx myself for the night when I braise the pork shoulder I have brining in the fridge…
